The higher the quality of your site when it comes to content the better rankings you get on the search engine. It is a well known fact that users do not look past the first page of results more than 20 percent of the time. For a website marketing campaign this means the site and its pages must be in the top ten results. The top three results are most imperative. SEO helps get the site there when using it for internet marketing.

PPC ads are another way to get the attention of consumers and increase traffic to your site. By advertising online you are spending less money on your campaign than you would for television or a billboard. PPC ads are designed to target a specific audience, with the keywords, URL, and image used to create the ad. PPC ads are cost effective in that there is a rate you pay per click. If you do not get a lot of clicks you are not spending a great deal on the advertising. Of course you want to have a high click through rate to be effective.

The last type of internet marketing is social networking. It is what it sounds like and we have been doing this for ages. We meet someone, give them a business card, discuss topics of interest, etc. Now the only difference is that we are doing this online. Social networking on sites like Facebook allows us to publish content to link to our sites as well as gain the attention of interested parties.
